In our 6th year of creating Tours; we are proud to announce in 2017 we routed and created “The Wilton Manor Preservation Paddle & Lesson” launching from our riverside docks located at 2520 N. Federal Hwy. With the help of residents of the City, Wilton Manors became the 17th City in the United States to become a Certified National Wildlife Habitat.
The twisted canals make this a fun experience as Paddlers try to guess which canal we will travel as it would be very easy to lose direction, but our trusted Guides will lead you on this fun journey. Along the path towards the Park Preserve we are bound to see some of our tropical friends including Manatee, Iguanas, Flamingoes, Osprey, Egrets, Coconut Palms, Traveler’s Palm, Royal Palms, Banana Palms, Bottle Palms, Fan Palms, Needle Palms, Spindle, Triangle, Queen, Foxtails, Date Palms, Robellini Palms, and so many more tropical marine life, birds, plants and trees.
The paddle will be on one of the calmest river waterways making this ideal for first timers and or beginners. The entire Tour will take between 2 – 3 hours and is a little longer than our Island City South Fork Route. This North Fork will reach our destination the Wilton Manors Park Reserve. The Preserve is the hidden jewel of the City offering a scenic view of the Middle River with the elevated walkway, fishing pier and Paddle Board / Kayak Launch. Other outside amenities include three pavilions, large deck, a walking trail, basketball court and playground. Inside, the community center is equipped with a full kitchen, meeting room, sound system and a multi-purpose room that will hold 100 people. The Historic Park & Nature Preserve are urban habitats for many native species of birds, plants, animals, and trees.
